I was also reading that there is some activity on the eastern end of the island, something about a relatively secluded, natural area that is being concreted over. Is this just coincidence, or is development accelerating in the area? I can understand in areas like Nuevo, which were completely undevel...

The last 2 trips to PV I've managed to get a touch of Montezuma's. I know that's what it was, and not overindulging, etc. because i know where I got it each time. (Both times out of Vallarta, in small to tiny eateries.) The last time, I recall getting a sulfa drug that really did the trick. I'm goin...

Joseph Graves
Like many, the conflict in Iraq has never touched me personally, it has always been distant in geographical and familial terms. Tuesday, the soldier killed in a humvee ambush, Joseph Graves of Discovery Bay, CA, was the only grandson of some very old and dear friends of my wife's. Odd how when these...

I agree completely. I'm middle aged, physically average and in most ways not terribly adventurous, but I had a blast at Los Veranos. Unless you're phobic of heights, this is something not to be missed. The adrenaline rush you walk into this with just adds to the experience. It's a shame some ppl thi...

We have also booked at the Eloisa, tho only for our arrival night in Oct, the rest of our stay being in a condo further south. If it can wait til then, we should have some info, as well as some images for our webshots album. Our only other stay in old town has been at the Molino de Agua, and we've b...

parasailing
Does anyone know if there are any parasail operators who practice the *American* style of using a winch, which launches and receives the parasail from the boat? There have been threads regarding the safety concerns of the usual method of beach take-offs and landings, and I don't want to stir that up...

Re: PLA
PLA is an all inclusive, however I believe the AI is optional. If you're just looking for one night, oftentimes the beachfront places will have a minimum night booking (usually 2 or 3), so you might be forced to look off beach anyways. If all you're really looking for is a place to store the luggag...

Thanks for the input. I didn't realize how much old town is/has changed. I checked out the San Marino, and they're AI only, one night for 4 is $400, and we wanted to eat out anyway. The Tropicana has a minimum stay, as do the Los Arcos properties. I can see if we want to spend only one night in a pr...

Los Muertos hotel
Thanks to all for the quick replies to my Molin de Agua query. We have a Punta Negra condo booked for 9 nights, and would like to spend our first night this Oct in town, right on the beach. (A shorter walk for our margaritas and shrimps fix.) We're not looking for the cheapest place, but rather some...

Sorry to say but it is closed and is in the process of being torn down. OMG, I hadn't expected that. I'm glad we're taking our teenagers (for their first time) with us, so that they can see the town as it is now. It seems *modernization* and *progress* are inevitable, and we're going to miss Molino...

Molino de Agua
We were planning on spending our first night in Vallarta this October at Molino de Agua, and are interested in any current info on the property. Tho we liked it very much 2 yrs ago, it looked like maintenance was starting to slip, and there was a thread a while back regarding the property being up f...

Re: 1st trip to PV
Hello All, So my question is...Is October a good time to go. I read it is the end of the rainy season. franknbeans We last visited PV in Oct 2004, and are going for 9 nights this year, mid October. I don't recall many places still closed from the summer season, and the crowds were light everywhere,...

Never stayed there, but spent a week next door at the Presidente in '04. The beach at the Presidente is quite nice, very light sand, fairly long, though it can be shallow at high tide. Since all beaches are public in Mexico, it's yours to use, though it looked like you had to hop some rocks and boul...

Re: Resorts
Have you thought about adding the Presidente Intercontinental to your list? Gets some pretty good reviews, not too far from town on a very nice beach, not too heavy on the family/kids thing. The Presidente used to be AI, but no longer is. It is very nice, but quite honestly we tired of the drive in...

Probaby not a good beach for snorkeling but with it being the rainy season then I'm not sure where would be good for snorkeling but condo wise I could recommend www.Laplapa101.com. Girasol Sur at Playas Gemelas- vallarta-condos dot com is their own website, or google vallarta condo girasol sur for many other condos for rent by individual owners. Its a beautiful beach.
