Re:Older Set night life spots?
I'll add my vote for Andale. It is a great place to socialize with the more "Seasoned" crowd. Yes, there is Sol, the donkey... make sure you bring your camera. Then there is Alice... Another good place to watch the sunset, have a couple of drinks and dinner is the Burro's Bar on Playa Los Muertos. T...

The amount you need to spend is totally relative to what you want to do while you are there. If you are staying at an All-Inclusive resort, then you won't have to budget in meals. The rest of your expenses will be how much you are going to shop, drink, transportation (bus or taxi) and if you want to...

Re:City or Jungle Tour
The tour you choose is totally up to what you want out of your visit. Personally, I would tend to lean toward the city tour. To me, there is so much history and culture to experience in and around the city it attracts my interest more. Not to discredit the jungle tour, but with a short I would prefe...

You are staying at a very nice place. Right out front is Los Arcos, also know as the best and biggest aquarium in PV. I suggest hiring a panga and go snorkeling at Los Arcos. When we went we hired Isreal off the beach. He is a very knowledgable life-time local of the area and will help you out with ...

Re:City tour or sleep in??
Leigh, I would say yes, it would be worth waking up for. Although I have never taken it, I have wanted to. We have had our friends that live in PV for the winter take us on sightseeing tours. There is so much to see and most vacations don't even realize it's there. You will feel differently about PV...

Re:Trying to find a partifular restaurant
Maurisios is awesome. Take the Xtapa bus and tell the driver you are going to Maurisios, he'll drop you off where you have to go. They have complimentary Cervesas and appys while you wait for you table. This place is always busy, filled with locals and tourists. Great shrimp dinners for 99 Pesos. An...

Re:Pacifico, Sol Corona...?
Even though the temps here at home are a mirror to PV, (mid to high 30's), and the beer (Pacifico) is nice, cold and refreshing, it just doesn't taste the same as the ones I remember in PV. I compare this phenomenon to hot dogs or roasted peanuts at a ball game. It's never the same unless you're the...

Thanks MM, I don't really feel much different now that I have crossed over to the Premium Member side. Every thing happened so fast. I have to agree with TAG also, it was over a year before I signed up too. I always hesitate when I am asked to give out personal information on the internet. I just lo...

Re:Grown up party place?
If you are near Old Town, Andale is a place that fits your request. The atmosphere is definately a more laid back, party, have a good time feel with a more "seasoned" crowd.. Later in the night you'll get to meet Sol. Give him a ride, take a picture. Then sing along to the house song about Alice. We...

Re:When do YOU think is the best time to go?
We like March. The weather is great, it's nice and warm and when we get back home, it's not long before the weather starts to change for the better. I especially like it when I get a call saying that they are in the middle of a heavy snowfall at home while I'm in PV.

Just an observation...
There are quite a few "regulars" on this board who aren't registered. I was wondering why.
For your profile, you need only fill in what information you want to give.
Not a big deal, just an off the topic thought.

Re:Cheap but Nice Hotels?
Jennybean, I agree, I have no desire to stay AI in PV. Cancun is a place I would AI, but not PV. I've only been away from PV since April, that's only 3 months, and already I am itching to go back. I think I am a PV addict as another post mentioned. I need plenty of support on my road to recovery. I ...

Re:Cheap but Nice Hotels?
Thanks Susana, I too have heard good reviews about Hotel Eloisa. I also have heard that the rooms at La Gaviota are decent. I/we love the location in that part of town as our friends live in Vista Del Sol right on the beach and that's where we've always stayed. Our next trip we want to try a hotel b...

Re:banks and money?
As Manfred said, when in PV, use Pesos. I have mentioned in a post or two previously, the currency in Mexico is the Peso. Vendors have to exchange the money anyway, so it's much better to use the Peso. Also as Manfred suggested, you won't get the proper exchange from vendors.

Re:Cheap but Nice Hotels?
I noticed a couple of decent hotels while I was down last March. Eloise (sp?) and La Gaviota. Both are with in spitting distance to Playa Los Muertos. Any comments about theses places?

Re:banks and money?
The banks in PV will accept Canadian and US dollars, Traveler's Cheques or cash, for exchange in Pesos. I don't think they will give out CDN or US Dollars.
