The Blue Bay Club (Near Mismaloya) has been closed since October 26th, 2002.
The Sun Getaway (next to the Sheraton), which was the Blue Bay Getaway a couple of years ago is still open, although I think it is for sale, but then anything is for sale, for the right price.

Re:2 short day trips, chicos paradise???
You want to DRIVE in PV during Easter? This is the time all us locals with cars park them for two weeks and take the bus or taxi or walk! The roads are gridlock, parking is non-existent and many people driving on the roads should not be. Think twice, the road to Sayulita is curvy and dangerous as it...

Hi guys! How are you doing? Hope to see you when you come to town:) When you exit the Westin, look across the street to the "boat yard". There is a big chain link gate and a guard booth and a sign that says Opequimar. Just go to the revolving gate, go through and tell the gate guy "Desperado" or he ...

I think the Westin does have a breakfast package, but not totally sure. Also, you have two things right next to the Westin that are both awesome in their own way, one super cheap, and one super "lux"! The Nikki Beach Club is right next door, luxury beach club that is way cool, and kinda expensive bu...

Re:AI or EP??
In Vallarta, there are only a few A/I hotels with more than a couple ala cart restaurants. So, the majority of the meals are buffet. Seven days of buffet can get pretty boring, and the food quality really revolves around the quality (and price) of the A/I package. Also, with most ala cart restaurant...

I never buy from them, instead I give them bananas, oranges or fruit. I never give them candy as the parents probably cannot afford dental care.. toys are good, but I think fruit is better...most are hungry and they never turn down my offerings. Of course, I would probably want a toy

hey Stew, we all can come off horribly, much to our own horror on the net... so much different than speaking and seeing the whites of someone's eyes. ;) Have a great time in Zihua, my cousins go there year after year, but they are coming to see me again this year in Vallarta. Somehow I think I have ...

Respeta a tus mayores por favor. No "C" in respect in Español....and no matter our ages, we all deserve equal respect, young and old alike. Now, Stew on the other hand is muy correcto in saying urine is NOT to be used to treat jelly fish stings. Urine will actually trigger the nematocysts to release...

You can slice them down the middle, then in the middle again (in forths) keep them in their skin. Dip them in white sugar and cinnamon and grill them on a griddle with butter. Cook them for a few minutes until they are lightly brown and the sugar and cinnamon has blended and is not dry anywhere. Pla...

Any time you travel out of your home country and plan on using your credit card, you should alert your bank(s) where and when you will be traveling. All credit card companies monitor your charges, and if all of a sudden they see your card being used in a new location (especially outside of the US or...

So far, nope.
As a matter of fact, I just watched three in a row speed down my street.
I have not seen any protests and I looked in the Opina today and didn't see anything.
So, for the moment it is business as usual. I will post if anything changes:)
