Several of these homes are still on the market. There have been no recent sales that I know of. Prices are in the $850 to $950K USD range for 4 br/private pool/garage/gardens etc on a 10 x 40ish meter lot. Double lot units are more. Seems to me like there is lots of interest but that most buyers are...

Like Andrea advised on the other board, it depends a great deal on your style of construction. You can build for as little as $25 a square foot -- but this style of construction may not be to your liking. Here you would use polihed cement rather than tile. No granite in the kitchen. No marble i the ...

Vallarta is largely safe. However, It's a city with growing pains and there have in fact been some problems with police. There have been several verified reports of problems with police harrassing people around popular bars. Beatings, threats of beatings to acesses bribes, and arrests over trumped u...

There is a conference on alernative energy in San Pancho (the town just north of sayulita) in a couple weeks. This would be a good place to get up to speed. Both solar and wind options will be discussed. The info from the flyer follows: On the corner of Avenida Tercer Mundo and calle Asia Saturday, ...

From what I can find online Casas Los Andes specializes is prefab and made to order houses made of treated wood? Is that what you were referring to??? for $50 square foot? That would sure be a departure for the type of housing here. Im not sure i would trust wood (treated or not) to last any length ...

Roger: There are three approaches to building in vallarta. The first is to hire a contractor who manages everything, the second is to manage your own crew where you subcontract everything, the third is to hire a bilingual to manage your crew if you dont speak spanish or cant be here all the time. Hi...

Bruce: Upon re-reading the corona reference i am NOT pursuaded or inclined to dismiss the article, as you suggest i should be. The local emergency telephone number, 060, has operated with only 2 telephone lines, has operated from a pair of plastic "Corona" tables, is too closely tied to the police d...

I find it quite amazing how well everyone appears to know this kid from a few snippets here and there. Yes he was drinking, Yes he or someone who knows him has posted a sexually graphic but nonviolent online blurb, yes his story may have inconsistancies or holes -- none of this surprises me. I dont ...

wow.. always amazes me how different peoples views of restaurants are from mine. I would go for Cafe de Artiste for a special night. I agree Trio's is consistant, but for me it has been consistantly bad bad bad. In my view Bruces Back Alley Bistro is too casual and too intrusive for a special night....

Well i have seen this post on several boards, and especially on the others the boys story is being completely dismissed. we cannot know the facts from here, but in my view it would be a critical mistake to dismiss his claims wholesale. Suppose he broke a window. Suppose he was obnxious. Is it then o...

This thread really doesnt need to go crazy. Let me just point out a couple things in the way of clarification. Instead of serious replies, my post generated a charged remark and a little joke. So I decided to post an objection. I was not offened at all by the "village people" remark. It was just a l...
