Most of the contributors to TA do it for fun. JR refers people to his maps of PV which are good. Often people will investigate his site and book tours there. He gets paid for site activity by the sponsors. And I think most people on TA are one trip wonders, so they need all the help they can get. I ...

My wife selected red wine by the glass and it was good. But it was $36 for 3. When asked to supply a bottle for under $50, they offered a good one for 650 pesos. I have no objection to paying an uplift for wine in any restaurant. Like you say, that is where they make their money. As long as I know t...

The issue I had with Bruce was that he refused to offer the wine paiiring menu. He also charged double the 495 pesos price per person. Plus he failed to offer a discount for cash which he promised on the phone. I gave him a week to explain himself. My desire to to alert other diners to the high cost...

From another board: There was one robber and 3 people were robbed on a single file trail through the woods, The robbery happened at 5pm and the cruise expected such excursions to be at 10am. It was off the road. Thought to be an inside job. Local police know the perp. Most cruise ship patrons were n...

Good for you. Many turisticos do not enjoy the pulse of Mexcian entrepreneurs trying to capitalize on garnering tourist dollars. You seem to accept it. That makes you a perfect turistico. Many people just want the warm weather and sun and surf without the locval culture. For them AI resorts ate a be...

We have a friend that owns a timeshare there. She rents in old town for a week and then goes to Paradise for a week. A good combination when you are still "working for the man". In her case, it is the woman (her). (BTW if you want to rent a condo in NV, our friend offers his 2br/2bath condo at Kite:...

Tough crowd here and no consensus. I have stayed at the Hotel Zone many times at Los Tules (11 years). I would say that you need to take a bus anywhere unless cruising Plaza Caracol is "fun". It is very relaxing but deadly dull for teen kids. If you want the kids to get out and back easily many time...
