Re:Which Mayan Palace do you prefer?
Puerto Peñasco is in northern Mexico, about a 3-4 hour drive from both Tucson and Phoenix. If you go there in the winter, there would be no possibility of swimming, unless the Mayan Palace has a heated pool. This is in the desert and it gets cold at night. I live in Tucson, and I go to Vallarta to g...

Re:Which Mayan Palace do you prefer?
A lot depends on what you are looking for. If you want a great beach and don't care too much about going in to Puerto Vallarta, then choose Nuevo, but know that it is not conveniently located. I prefer the Mayan at the marina, mainly for convenience. A great deal of timeshare pressure at both places...

Re:U.V.C. at Villa Del Mar
You should be able to find many recommendations here, but basically you just have to get on the bus outside your place and go downtown where you will find plenty of action, Have a great time!

Re:U.V.C. at Villa Del Mar
Hi Teri,
I hope you will enjoy your trip to PV. It is completely different than Cabo. Two questions: when are you going and how old is your daughter? Your choices might depend on that information, but this is the place to get those answeres.

Re:U.V.C. at Villa Del Mar
Villa del Mar is part of the Villa del Palmar complex. Your rooms should be ok. You are located almost across the street from the Gigante supermarket and also have convenient access to downtown via bus. Their gym is great! I like the pool, but people tend to get out early and put towels on the best ...

Elena, where is Celia's located in relation to Los Arbolitos and Red Cabbage? Los Arbolitos used to be a very favorite place, but now the food is just kind of ordinary, but the setting as wonderful as always.

Re:just returned from PV
Hi Elena, We delivered the Murphy bed mechanism to a friend recommended to us by Brenda, who is active on this BB and also has her own popular BB. Her friend's husband is a carpenter, and I am confident he will do a great job. Our condo complex is called Selva Romantica. It is located two blocks up ...

Re:just returned from PV
Marcos, I could have drank their margaritas all night and walked out of there sober. They were margaritas in name only. Maybe it was because it was happy hour; most other places have much more potent margaritas. And, yes I do confess to suffering from, or being blessed with, hollow leg syndrome too!

Re:Buying property in PV
We are in the process of purchasing a newly built condominium, and the developer/seller referred to the problem which North is suffering from. I gather that it is a well known topic in PV and that many others on both the selling and buying sides of transactions are benefiting and learning from these...

just returned from PV
We just returned from a short 3 night/4day trip. Weather: it rained every evening, a light rain Thursday and Saturday and a pretty heavy rain Friday. Friday we were stuck at Andales during happy hour for 4-5 rounds of margaritas, but walked out of there feeling like we had been drinking ginger ale. ...

Smitty, we do the same thing. Our anniversary and my wife's birthday are both in the first week of Janaury. We never miss going down that week, and treat ourselves to dinner at River Cafe with Willie & Lobo, who are always there at that time.

Re:Best Taco Stands?
We are going down to PV for a long weekend Sept 9-12 and will have to check out El Cuñado, probably for lunch since we will be staying in that area. Thanks for the heads up. Plan to eat at La Piazetta and Archies Wok on 2 of the 3 evenings; don't about the 3rd. We were going to check out Barcelona T...

Re:Good Wine?????
Are you talking about buying wine in a restaurant, at the store at home or a store in Mexico? How much do you want to spend? If you are not a regular wine drinker, what someone else likes may not appeal to you at all. If you are talking about buying wine in a restaurant, and this is the restaurant s...

We have eaten at La Dolce Vita numerous times, usually pizza, and have never been disappointed in the food. However, it is a popular restaurant and you can't always get a great table.

Mogens (Aug 27, 2004 11:44 p.m.): Criticise is correctly spelled (Webster's Revised Unabridged Dictionary - where they also state: Written also, more analogically, but less commonly, criticize)... so it's not a mistake or typo... but just FYI, I was born in Chile, am a Danish citizen and live in Me...
