So as it turns out my fiance's family are going in together to rent a bus for the trip from Aguascalientes. The bus will stay in Vallarta for the duration of our stay and we can use it to visit other points, so we may just day trip north to another beach. Thanks everyone for your suggestions. We lan...

Haha.
I have enjoyed some of that crap myself on occasion.

That being said we may end up at Sam's etc simply because we will need around 10 dz.

Thanks Benito,

We have thought of doing a day trip to one of the local beaches as well.
My gal and I land in Mexico 3 weeks before the wedding and will start planning a little more formally once we get a better idea of what everyone would like to do.

There is a lot of professional cooking and restaurant experience in both families, which is why we decided to take care of the food collectively. The villa has a large commercial kitchen more than adequate for our needs. A lot of the dry goods will be purchased in bulk and brought along from Aguasca...

Cool. We will be in Vallarta briefly 2 weeks or so before the wedding and then return on our own ahead of family and friends a couple of days before. I intend to use those times to run around and iron out some of the details. This info lets us know where we're at and gives me some direction. Thanks ...

Thanks everyone!
Really appreciate your time in helping with some of the details.
Renting 3 of the Pangas sounds like a great deal to me.
The villa we are renting is up the hill in old town. So I was initially thinking to grab the water taxis from the pier. Would this work?

We will probably have access to a car. Several of our friends will be coming from Aguascalientes, I'm sure they will drive.
I will drop them an email a little closer to us leaving and see if we can work something out.
Thanks again everyone for posting. Very helpful.

We are getting married in PV this Fall and have rented a large villa for our family and friends. I'm mainly looking for a good source of bread and buns etc beyond the normal grocery store offerings. We are all cooking together for the better of a week and I want to lay my hands on some quality stuff...

Bakery

Are there any exceptional bakeries in PV?
Old town would be preferable, but I'm willing to travel a bit if it's the really good stuff.

I have never had an issue with street food in Mexico. And I can't speak for other states, but my fiance's parents are in the street vending business in Aguascalientes and there are indeed health inspectors that come around, purchase food and send it to a lab for analysis. If there is an issue they w...

Marttin: Thanks for the offer on the water taxis. We've never used them so I'm just trying to get some kind of idea what they would charge to get 50 or so people there and then come back and pick them up. I'm not sure about Aguascalientes-specific wedding traditions. I'll ask the lady tonight. Kat: ...

We have done both in Vallarta and will probably never go all inclusive again. We just prefer the little hotels in old town and wandering the streets in search of interesting places to eat, drink & relax.

We'll bring some dry goods from Aguascalientes with her family, but we figure sending some of my family and friends to the market with hers for produce etc might be fun.

Getting Married in October in PV....a couple of questions...

Hello everyone, I've been a reader and infrequent poster on these boards since I first found myself in Vallarta 4 years ago. My gal and I are renting a large villa in October and getting married, I am hoping some of you can answer a couple of questions for me, or point me in the right direction. My ...
