For Rent

Judging by the For Rent signs I've seen around town all season long, you might stand a good chance of finding a place by coming here first and taking a cheap hotel for a few nights and then start looking while you're here. You also might be able to negotiate a better rate in person than over the int...

I would add one thing to your list. Advise your Bank of your travel plans so that your credit card will not be declined should you choose to use it.

BTW Denny, I disagree with your advice NOT to bring your jeans. It's cold here in January and I was wearing mine around town today! :)

I think the simple reason no one has been able to answer the question is that those who responded (with the exception of a few) have absolutely NO experience with this type of thing. You might want to check with the peeps over at Vallarta Scene. They might have more current, pertinent information an...

ACA v PV

I've been to both. Went to ACA first, three years in a row and loved it. Then I went to PV and I will never go back to ACA. For one thing, I think the quality and variety of restaurant food in PV is better. It attracts more international chefs for some reason. That's a good enough reason for me to k...

Thank you to everyone who took the time to post their thoughts on the Buenaventura! I knew you were out there and wouldn't let me down. :D

Sunshine ~ Good luck with the wedding! It sounds like you made a wonderful choice with the Buenaventura. Please let us know how it went when you get back.

Buenaventura Hotel Opinions Please

Friends of mine are considering this hotel. I was wondering if anyone has an up-to-date report on this hotel (i.e. this season)so that I could pass it on to them. Thank you so much!

Keith, either your Spanish or your typing is terrible -- I'm still trying to decide which! LOL I would definitely choose Dreams if I had a choice between it and the Fiesta Americana. I love the location south of town and you will be closer to La Zona Romantica (the southside of Vallarta). You can al...

They will provide you with a chair if you eat and/or drink at their establishments. Bring your own towel and anything else you think you might need. It is one of my favourite beaches north of Vallarta. :)

Back to the OP, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Vista Grille as one of the best restaurants I've ever enjoyed in PV (or elsewhere). I also like La Palapa but sometimes, sand in my sandals isn't what I'm looking for in a nice romantic evening. :) The view is AMAZING and the food, wine, service and a...

PV Best Local Restaurant? Where is the Malecon? Is that like the Zocallo? PV is a large resort city with hundreds of restaurants, from roadside taco stands to 5 star gourmet dining. The Malecon is downtown. The Zocalo is the centre square right in front of the church called the Virgin of Guadalupe....
