Re:family - spring break
Mike, I don't know if you are looking at staying in PV or looking for an all-inclusive but... The Royal Decameron complex near Bucerias is nice. It is all-inclusive. Has a good five pools, three buffet restaurants, four or five reservation restaurants, tennis courts, a nightly show in the outdoor am...

Re:Taking things to a Family In PV
Like the previous poster stated: I'm sure anything you bring will be appreciated because it won't be expected. If you don't have a lot of room you might think of small items like personal items/toiletries/cosmetics/razors/etc. These things can be luxuries even though we think of them as necessities....

Re:where to go?
rustinsmommy, I fly out of Portland also. My husband and I went to PV for the first time last Nov. I booked us through Travelocity and had no problems. We stayed in Bucerias at the Royal Decameron which is All-inclusive. It was great for my husband who is not a big traveller or chance taker. I would...

Re:booking in advance
I booked online with Vallarta Adventures, about two months in advance. Got a 10% discount and had no problems at all. I booked two different excursions and both were GREAT!!!

ZAH, I was looking into the same thing this last Nov. and did as Brenda had suggested to me. I took down a couple bags of my daughters outgrown things and dropped them off at Casa Hogar on my way to the hotel. Very rewarding!! By the way--thanks Brenda for all the work you do with the kids!! They ar...

bri bri I certainly agree with all the previous posts----DON"T LET THIS RUIN THE POSSIBILITY OF A FABULOUS VACATION!!!!! They are only an anoyance not something to be scared about. And although your wife won't be able to see them, all the better, she won't feel guilty about just walking away! I woul...

Re:Beware of the PVR addiction!
Well, I'm not really supposed to be here. I'm really not. I don't have this addiction at all. I stayed in Bucerias. So I have nothing to worry about right? ----------- Or is that something like a gateway drug? My counselor says he's getting a little worried about me, something about hanging out with...

Anyone have a recipe using plantains? I'm having a fiesta/tequila tasting party this Sat. and thought I would add those to the menu.

I too Have had something similiar while on a jeep safari in PV this year. This was all mixed in a plastic cup---two fingers tequila, add three fingers beer, and top it off with squirt. Was great, especially after a few straight shots of tequila. I asked for it in a local bar, and had a few looks, ap...

Dave, Just enjoy, enjoy, enjoy. I would also agree about ATM withdrawals. Easy since they are all over and your fees are nominal. As a first timer do take a Vallarta Adventures Safari tour (all day, maybe 60-70 $) well worth it. Their dolphin swim is a great experience too. If you have kids pack som...

Re:Transportation to Mismaloya area
Thanks for sharing Stew,
I love little stories like that. I've also seen the huge difference in American kids vs. Mexican children. So much more respect down in PV, than my town. As a teacher, I would much rather teach down there in that regards!

Hi Highway Guy, I was just down last month and stayed in Bucerias. We did two excursions with Vallarta Adventures and I thought they were a top notch company. I made reservations online and had no problems with that at all. We did the Dolphin Swim--a great experience but a bit pricey for what it was...

Chuck (Nov 28, 2004 10:02 p.m.): 1st, go to your back yard and get 3 moles. ;-) <:((()))~ Well, that would make for some interesting dinner conversation... But, first I would need to scrape off the snow, then dig down into the frozen ground, get out and try my new mole call, and....it's starting to...

Mole` Sauce?
Does anyone have a good recipe for Mole sauce? I had some great chicken enchiladas in Bucerias earlier this month and would love to try them here at home. Make PV seem not as far away. Is that possible? Thanks!
