funny stuff - i too could see myself saying to my wife 'it's all about location'
and her say 'bulls#*t', it's all about the mattress!'.
sorry to hear the negatives - we stayed at vallarta shores 2 yrs. ago
and walked past the s.m. daily - always looked inviting and in perfect
location.

our local friend drove us to all points north a few years back, la penita being the farthest north (where he went to school) - definitely take the time to stop in guayabitos. depending on how many are going, i'd rent a driver/van for day. last year we were at velas - asked for driver/van for day - t...

as we do most years, our group of 6 likes to rent suburban/van & driver for day and spend day hopping around north of pv. last year our driver insisted on pulling over to a local 'tourist' tequila mfg. we did not even want to stop but he pulled in rite behind the coach bus full of cruise shippers......

as far as beach weddings go - in the marina area there are hotels with man made jetti's protruding out from beach approx. 50 yards? they typically seem to have white tents on them and are used for private massages, etc. - but have seen pics of wedding ceremonies being held on them. there are 5 or 6 ...

nothing i like better than landing in plane and knowing in about 1/2 hour
i'll be pool or beachside with pina'colada in hand.
seriously, for me it's a toss up between the friendly people and
the majestic beauty of the bay (ocean meeting mountains)
