time share sharks almost got me

I'm a bit ashamed to admit that the airport Time Share Sharks just about got me ! After 12 or so hours of traveling, I was disoriented. So even thought I knew to keep going through the second hallway, I turned my head when the Shark called out to me in an authoritative voice. I am furious at their o...

modern can be okay too

I'm interested in seeing if NOW Amber offers the friendly atmosphere of Dreams in a more accessible setting. For example: there are steep stairways from the hotel building down to the sand / beach at Dreams. When I phoned NOW Amber, they said they have a ramp for beach access. For the aging traveler...

taxi union

Hi Kat, thanks for the suggestion. In the meantime, I found this on another tour website: "Return Transfers Note: Due to an agreement between the hotels and taxi union, allowing only taxis to pick up at hotels, we are not currently able to offer round-trip transfers . We can offer arrival transfers ...

like Tukari

I am a huge fan of the VIP Taxi (reserved thru PV dot net). However, my folks like the convenience of booking round-trip airport transport. They used to use Tukari, but it seems to have gone off the internet. Do you know if Tukari did go out of business? If not, how can we contact them? If so, could...

Adios Hilo

Too bad about Hilo closing. I liked the story of how it came to get the name. And I loved the huge statues, especially Pancho Villa and Siete Leguas.

good ideas

Thanx for the info / ideas. for now, the plan is for one more stay at good old Dreams (in March), and while we're there, take an afternoon to look at alternatives for the future. I saw NOW Amber mentioned in this forum. Seems worth a look too. Hoping the newly constructed site will have that modern ...

accessible beach at a hotel

In your opinion: What is the best PV hotel / resort for someone who doesn't walk so well anymore? Flat is better than stairs. All-Inclusive preferred. Getting to the sand to spend the day sitting on the beach is a top concern. Is there a ramp? I can look around the web. Want your opinion though. Mil...

looking for snow in PV

I would start looking for snow in PV by
looking into a frozen margarita. And by gosh,
I would keep going until I got to the bottom of the glass !

shopping

I like to shop at the PV Mercados early. ( Then get in plenty of beachtime all afternoon 'til sunset) A stall-keeper is usually very happy to make their first sale of the day with me. So I get a good price along with lots of smiles. Also shopping related: I was laden with shopping bags, happy-tired,...

beach or shopping

thanks for the map, Keith i'm thinking that Plaza Caracol is considered to be on the beaten track, and so is a safe place for a tourist to visit. as much as PV is safe overall, just checking, to reassure those in my group who may worry about me (from their beach chairs) as i go off on my PV shopping.

a bisuteria

Hi ! In 2009, I found beads in PV at 'La Perlita' on Calle Juarez, #480. altho bisuteria is a bead store, this one was a merceria. and as mentioned, it had a variety of materials, yarn, lace (i think) i had to go into a lot of stores with a lot of questions and probably have the info a little mixed....

waiting for shopping

Thanks for the info ! I cannot quite picture the location. But how fun to have something to ponder as I wait for my vacation ! :D There is no enclosed mall where I live, so a visit to the Plaza C. is just another great thing about PV. I went to Galleria last time. I still really like the shoes I got...

where are the beads in pv

I did not find loose beads easily in PV. I think that Guadalajara must have some good bead stores though. Anyway, if you find a small store that has lots of trims and things to use for sewing or making party decorations, they may have beads. How soon are you going? Do I have time to look through my ...

what about Plaza Caracol

Tell me about Plaza Caracol : Is it an enclosed Mall? Air-Conditioned? Or does each store have an entrance to the outside, so you walk outdoors to go from store to store? Where is it? I can't seem to find it, looking out the window, on the taxi ride to/from the airport and Dreams. Is it next to the ...

QUALITY SERVICE

Did you call the toll free number for Puerto Vallarta . net already?
If they can't answer your question, they could probably give
you the phone number for the taxi service.

I have posted many times that I feel it is a quality service
at a reasonable price.

Hope you will give them a chance.

why just one vehicle

Hi Chrisnick, i'm a BIG fan of the taxi service that you can get thru this site. For your group, at midnite on a holiday, i think it is a very good idea for you to prearrange, and especially to pre-arrange with a service that will take good care of you (at a reasonable price.) Is there a reason why ...
