Re:exchanging money at yhe airport

Bital bank (on your left as you clear customs) is open on Sundays. I do not know the exact operating hours on Sundays, but we usually arrive around 3:30pm and it is open then, so you should be fine at 3:00.

You should be able to catch the bus across the street from your hotel. 9 pesos to Bucerías.

Eat on the street?

As long as the stand is clean, why would you say "don't eat on the street"? There are some great street stands around Vallarta. Just look for the ones with lots of locals eating there, they have been for years, and don't seem to be dying off. Personally, I am looking forward to some wonderful street...

I doubt you will have any problems, as most places will probably card your toddlers before serving them drinks.

No rates available yet anywhere I could find for Playa Los Arcos that time of year, but Vallartaonline has prices for Tropicana in February.

Re:Reccomendations for a special time

Had dinner for our anniversary at River Cafe last May, absolutely the best rack of lamb I have ever eaten. The question is, are you looking for a to pay for a view or excellent dinning? Le Kliff and El Panorama both provide wonderful views, but if fine dinning is your choice, Trio, Cafe Maximilian o...

Re:good lobster in pv

Have never found lobster in Vallarta to be more than mediocre, even at better restaurants. The only exception I have found are the lobster tacos at Daiquiri Dick's, it is one of their specialties and are delicious. Did not have them last time we ate there, and left wishing I had (not that dinner was...

Re:1st timer in PV with lots of Q's

First, listen to susana, she is pretty right on with her advice regarding staying on the south side. Second, make a list for your weeks provisions, walk up to Rizo's, but take a cab back. There is almost always one right outside the market, about 220 pesos ($2.20USD) which is the minimum cab fare. T...

Sundays

Yes the exchange at the airport is open on Sundays. Not sure of the exact hours, but do know it is open at 3:30pm when we arrive. This is where you get the best exchange rate. Once in town, ATMs are reasonably easy to find.

Re:CHI'S CHI'S RESTAURANT

If my memory serves me correctly (memories of PV tend to have a bit of fuzz to them), when we were there in May, I believe JR said it is now just rented out for private parties. He or one of the other locals should be along sometime soon and let you know for sure.

Re:Need Suggestions on Avoiding Timeshare sharks

Found that when I got tired of saying "no gracias" that if they asked if we wanted a discount on a tour, I would turn and tell them "we are far too busy looking for a time share to take a tour."

I'd say 9 out of 10 of them even had to laugh.
