Puerto Vallarta Airport registers close to 17 thousand passengers per day

The director of Puerto Vallarta International Airport, Cryshtian José Amador Lizardi, announced that the daily air passenger traffic at this facility has reached nearly 17,000, marking a milestone that surpasses previous records from 2019 to the current date.

Amador Lizardi noted that Puerto Vallarta is experiencing a notable winter season, showing a growth of 10% compared to the period from January to November 2022. The director emphasized that the airport has been setting new records since 2019, exceeding 6 million visitors so far. Furthermore, he highlighted that December has not yet concluded, suggesting that the daily passenger figure, currently standing at nearly 17,000, could increase further due to year-end festivities.

While not officially confirmed, it is projected that Puerto Vallarta could surpass the 7 million passenger mark this year, which would be a historic achievement for the region. Nationally, according to November 2023 data, the 12 Mexican airports operated by the Pacific Airport Group experienced a 0.4% increase in total passenger traffic compared to the same month in 2022.

In this context, the airports of Los Cabos and Puerto Vallarta stood out with growth rates of 4.3% and 3.7%, respectively, compared to November 2022. Puerto Vallarta ranked second in terms of the best passenger growth during that month. The sustained momentum in air traffic underscores the continued appeal of Puerto Vallarta as a tourist destination and reflects a robust recovery compared to the challenges posed by the pandemic.
