Charging camera battery

Post by leccvg » Mon Sep 06, 2004 10:09 pm

We are going to PVR on 9/11 and can't wait. I thought I had answered all my questions after reading the boards but my wife just asked me a question that I don't remember being addressed before. We use a digital camera and have a batttery charger that we usually just plug into a socket here in the US. What type of current is used in PVR; the same as the US? We will be staying at the the Crown Paradise.
Thanks for any info
Larry

No problem. The currency is the same as it is in Canada and the U.S.

The only problem you may encounter is the actual plug itself. The plugs here at home have two different sized prongs. Some of the wiring down in PV may be the early style with two small prongs. At worst you'll just have to use an adapter.

Depending on the age of some of the buildings and their wiring, Canucker is correct - they do not have the "safety prong" style outlets where one hole is slightly larger than the other, they often only have the older models. Easy fix by going to a local hardware store or WalMart and buying a plug adapter for a couple of dollars.

Current in Mexico is the same as in the US and Canada, which if I recall correctly, is 110/120v. All of your appliances will work fine - hair dryer, curling iron, coffeemaker, etc.

At my house in PV, the line voltage hovers around 130 VAC. It doesn't seem to affect any electronic items, but I sure could use a free membership to the "Light Bulb of the Month" club. :-)
