First aid - what to bring

Post by pokefan72 » Mon Sep 15, 2008 7:06 pm

Hello,
Ok, this might be a silly post, but being our first time to PV, and reading the other trip posts, I am going to prepare a little first aid bag. The following is what I plan on putting in the bag. If you think that we should add anything else, based on your experiences, please reply.
-Advil
-sunscreen
-after sun lotion
-bug repellant
-Tylenol
-alcohol pads
-amonia (for any jellyfish stings)
-beach shoes (only for use in the water)

Thanks for your help!

What are "beach shoes" exactly? Neoprene slip ons?

Good question

Post by pokefan72 » Mon Sep 15, 2008 9:20 pm

That is a good question!
Not living near a beach, but in the center of the US, I am assuming 'beach shoes' would be like what you mentioned, or maybe 'water socks' that we wear to the river or lake. (I saw them on an earlier post about being stung by rays)

Can anyone help explain, if different than what I mention above?

Thanks

Immodium a/d may be handy for diarhea. And yes, if you are going to be swimming off the beach the neoprene water socks are a good idea. I have found some shells on the beach with pretty long sharp spikes, wouldn't want to step on one barefooted.

If your suitcase is getting crowded or heavy don't forget that you can buy everyone of the things on your list when you arrive.
