Sunset Time

Post by sunshine311 » Tue Feb 19, 2008 11:34 pm

I'm getting married in PV March 11th. I found a website that indicated the sun will set at 6:10pm that day. However, my Wedding Coordinator has our ceremony set for 6pm-7pm with sunset photo's at 7:20pm. If the website I saw is correct, then these times are too late and it will be dark!! Can someone who's experience with being in PV please tell me when the sun will be setting in March?

Thanks!

If you go to the bottom of the page on this site, you can enter the dates you want to know about. I've used it for several years and found it quite accurate.

BTW is says 7:09 for 03/11

Congratulations too!

Go with the site that Ted gave you. I have found the site that Chico gave is always out by an hour and then when we change to daylight savings it is out by 2 hours.

I can never remember this:

If the sun sets at 7:09 pm in PV, what time is it in Bucerias and Nuevo Vallarta? I know there is a one hour time difference?

Edit to answer my own question:

It is one our back for NV and Bucerias. So sunset on your day would be 6:09 pm if you are being married there, and 7:09 if you are being married in PV. Although very close together in distance, they are in different states of Mexico.

And yes, Contratulations to you! My daughter is getting married in Jan 09 in Bucerias. Can't think of a more lovely place to be married than on the beach at sunset... how romantic! I see you are using a wedding planner? Would you mind sending me a PM and let me know how your plans went, and anything you can think of that might be useful information to pass along. Have a wonderful day! We will be in PV Mar9-16... we'll say a blessing for you!

Thanks for clairifying. This was exactly my issue. Ted's site indicated a 7pm sunset, where as Chico's gave a 6pm sunset (Chico's site was the original one I had found). Glad to hear you're familiar with the sites and know which one is more reliable.

So, this may be a dumb question - but does PV change their clocks for daylight savings time like we do here in Canada? Just wondering because the day before we leave - March 7th - we push them ahead an hour. Which confuses me even more as to when sun will set in Mexico on March 11th!!! Agh!

Mexico does not go to daylight saving until 2AM April 6th.

Thanks, at least that's one less factor to consider! I know I sound crazy fretting over this, but any bride would understand!! I just want the timing to be perfect.

My WC, although extremely helpful, basically goes off my lead. I tell him what I want and he does it! LOL. But try and get information from him...not so easy!!

Well have I got a pic for you! This was taken from my living room window (wait for it) at 7:10 p.m. March 23, 2006

Now you know EXACTLY where the sun will be around March 11th! (Knock off a couple minutes for the week or so difference) Note the cool "face" the clouds made!

Thank you so much!!!

My stupid work computer has blocked the picture though (which I am dying to see!!) so it's not appearing; but I will check it out on my home computer when I get home tonight.

I feel so much better knowing the exact answer now. You guys are so helpful here!! Thanks again!
