Does anyone know what the cost of a taxi would be from La Penita to downtown PV? I'm planning on going to the street market there, we will probably take the bus going to La Penita but depending on how loaded down we are with purchases we may want a cab instead of the bus.
Thanks for now
Joyce

I think it would be a lot Joyce. The market on Thurs. is fantastic but the taxi fare might just wipe out all your savings. Given the fact that it is about $200 pesos from Nuevo to PV and La Penita is a lot farther away.

Wish I could give you an acutal cost but I always drive out there.

Thank you. The one time I was out that way I was a passenger in a car so taxi fare was not relevant. I suppose the bus will be the best option, we will just have to make sure that we don't purchase anything large.

Joyce,

Robert, I don't know how I missed your post.
A friend is joining me on Jan. 9 and I thought I would take her out that way for the day. She will be gone by the time you get there but if you want to go as well I might be persuaded to go again! It's somewhat close to Guayabitos but I'm not sure exactly. Probably about and hour and a half or so from PV.

I have a friend who lives in La Penita. He always drives down to PV and picks us up when we are in town. If I remember correctly we priced a cab 1 time and it was $200 dollars to La Penita from Nuevo. Make sure to find the Backstreet Resturant and Brewery in Guayabitos when you are there. Good Microbeer in the land of Corona. It is on the beach very close to the Decameron in Guayabitos.

Michael, I seem to remember a post quite a while ago about that micro brewery. Will definitely have to check it out. What is the distance between Guayabitos and La Penita?

Hi Joyce!

They are literaly right beside each other. Last year we spent a night before the market and had a very short cab ride down the road to have dinner. Kim stayed there and she used to walk back and forth between the two. We're thinking that we will spend a night there this trip too and then go the market in La Penita.

See you soon!

our local friend drove us to all points north a few years back, la penita
being the farthest north (where he went to school) - definitely take the
time to stop in guayabitos.
depending on how many are going, i'd rent a driver/van for day.
last year we were at velas - asked for driver/van for day - the 6 of were
picked up in suburban around 9am and back around 6pm.
i have the gentleman's business card with contact info - he is approx.
50-60 yrs. old and a vallarta native - very informative of entire area;
pay by the hour? or day? i can't remember - seem to remember about
$80-100 per couple for the day.
send me pm if interested in contact info.
