Definitely a weird year for weather - I won't complain...makes me a little happier knowing we won't have such a cold winter because I can't get to PV

It is an El Nino year and you get what mother nature decides to hand out. The weather is certainly not the norm in many areas this year.

We've had many El Niño events over the years and it never produced this, I've noticed a drastic change in the normal weather starting about 5 years ago.
Can you say Global Warming ?

If you were experiencing these winds, they are not to be forgotten. Furniture was flying everywhere, water was blowing through the doors, furniture in the pool and roof tiles off everywhere. It's a first for February that's for sure. If you were in Nuevo, it was pretty scary!

Someone posted on one of the threads that they saw a water spout just before it hit land in Bucerias. They are pretty darn scary, we had at least four of them in So. Cal just two weeks ago. There were boats sunk, boats thrown on top of other boats in Huntington Beach Marina, roofs ripped off of buildings, windows broken (one lady was sitting at her desk paying bills and the 9 ft plate glass window in her office was blown out, luckily the curtains kept her from being cut from the flying glass) One went through Ventura one in Long Beach and one further inland in the desert on the Calif/AZ border, all in a matter of a couple of days.
Interesting information on this site about El Nino, La Nina seasons:

Bet this season goes down as a W+.

If you have a Marine radio in PV you can stay on top of the weather and what's going on in the Bay. If you are boating people, all the better, but you don't have to have a boat to hear what's going on. It was especially good this morning with the reporting of what went on last night.

I am not in PV till the 12th. My friends are in Neuvo and all they said when they called their daughter today was that it was pretty bad. Can't find anything on the net about the storm.
