You might enjoy Nuevo Vallarta or Bucerias area. Very nice beaches and much more quiet than downtown Puerto Vallarta.

But.......I would consider the Playa Los Muertos area south of the Rio Cuale in PV fairly "low key" with decent beach with plenty of bars/restaurants, many on the beach. You can find all sorts of lodging, from low end to high end, within several blocks of the beach.

Just depends on exactly what you are looking for.......If I were a single woman travelling to PV, and if I wanted to socialize, that is where I would want to be.

Stay downtown. Definitely the place to be to meet people. There are a lot of solo travelers, male and female and there are a lot of great places. Twisted Palm martini bar is one, Apaches Martini bar another....what are you looking for?

Cafe Tizoc for dinner...yummm.... Pancho Takos for cheap cheap tacos! Right beside Cafe Olla...another good place. Nacho Daddy's for what else?? Good nachos! And live entertainment as well although I missed hearing it this winter I heard it was great!

Playa Los Arcos would fit that bill. It is right on the beach and you don't have to rent the chairs. They have loungers and the staff there are very nice. They put the chair, an umbrella and usually a small table on the beach wherever you would like it. They have a nice 2 for 1 happy hour too. We had a gorgeous view of the ocean from our balcony. Make sure you specify you want a balcony as there are some rooms without them. Plus...you can walk everywhere from here. Internet cafe close by with really yummy looking food, bars, restaurants, you name it. We were two women traveling together and we met tons of people.

There are three hotels with this group, the playa one is the one right on the beach.

You can stay anywhere for a good price at that time of year... Try Playa Los Arcos if you are wanting a hotel room.

This is a good place to ask. Maybe start a new subject with the name of the B & B. I have not seen it. Did you google street view it? It is not on the malecon and is a fair walk to the restaurants and bars I mentioned. You could walk along the beach howeer at one point you would have to go through a path.

Looks like a nice place...Sorry I have been a bit busy and haven't had time to check my sources..lol..

A lot of people love the Tropicana which is right on the beach. I have not personally stayed there and you would need to request a ocean view room and probably when you get there confirm that they have it...

You have a bit of time to book. There are a lot of them on the beach. Posada de Roger is cheap and I have heard clean and decent. Definitely no frills though but close to everything. Puerto Vallarta has the most amazing restaurants and tons of them!! I love going out to eat and everything is good. Best food I have had on any vacation by far!

Try Hotel Mar Sol on Fca Rodriguez right by the pier.

(Edit: Mixed it up with the restaurant name.)
