Passports....

Post by zoesmom » Tue Apr 09, 2013 10:40 pm

When in Mexico should you carry your passport?

I have heard to carry it? Personally I have the fear of losing it. I have made copies and thought that is what we I would carry and leave the actual one in the safe at the hotel.

Please advise and thanks.

3days 19 hours till we land in PV! :D

The only time you will need your passport is if you are from the US and exchanging USD. If you are exchanging money, take it. Otherwise leave it in your safe. You can carry a copy for ID purposes in case of an emergency. You can write emergency contact numbers on the back of the copy.

Kat said it all, I did it the same way in Mexico, and if you own a car, I'd keep copies of my relevant ids in the car.

Have a great trip and send us a trip report too :-)

Greetings

M.
