Take your bug spray!

We just returned from PV (Allegro Resort) and got eaten up by mosquitos during sunset. So, if you are going soon, make sure you bring some bug spray!

Must be the time of year (rainy season); I suppose the humidity/moisture brings them out. Was there in April and even thought to throw a small aerosol spray insecticide in my bag - never took it out of the bag.

I've been bitten only a couple of times, in October, when I was out near the jungle. I never pack bug spray, too much valuable space:) but easy to buy, and inexpensive all over PV. I also buy my SPF and tanning oil there, as it's the same price at Gigante as in the States.
I would recommend June-October, if taking a jungle horseback ride, or getting off the beaten path, to buy or pack bug spray. Of course drinking large amounts of gin seems to keep them away also:)
