Your experience with the dolphin swims

Post by Trev086 » Tue Jan 29, 2008 3:53 am

Just Curious to get a few opinions on their experience on the dolphin swims. Which tour did you do, how long did you swim with the dolphins? What kind of swimming was it (the cool things done in the movies, or simply getting in the water next to them)

Thanks for the help

Did you prebook, go through your hotel concierge, or just find a biz on the street?

We did the swim with the dolphins & it was amazing.First they give you an orientation which was great because I learned a lot of things. Then you go in to the pool with them for about an hour. There is a lot of interaction with them. They will swim by you.You can touch them, feed them & they will kiss you :) You will also be taken for a ride around the pool.Make sure you hang on tight & make sure you don't have loose bathing suit bottoms  The trainers & dolphins also put on a great show at the end.Of course they take pics & video which you can purchase.
This was one of my all time favorite experiences. We booked through tour operator at hotel. You can also book here on line.

Dolphins

I've done both the captive dolphin "tour" and the excursion in the wild.

I support and recommend the eco-and-dolphin friendly wild version.

A rather disturbing revelation (video included) about killer Dolphins .

"New evidence has been compiled by marine scientists that prove the normally placid dolphin is capable of brutal attacks both on innocent fellow marine mammals and, more disturbingly, on its own kind."

Its a great experience. We did the encounter which was around $100 per person I think. The swim is about $200. The encounter you stand on a platform with roughly 12 people and get to touch and interact with a dolphin. Ours was a new mom and had a little baby with her. :D The swim you get a good amount of one on one time with a dolphin.

I would book straight through vallarta adventures.

Dolphin Tours

Here are all the dolphin tour options: http://www.puertovallarta.net/tours/ind ... dine=Order

The price should be competitive, if not cheaper, plus you get a chance to support this site and forum.

Swim with dolphins in the wild

Were there lots of dolphins that you swam with and how long did they swim with you? Would love to hear more about the outside world.
