A big group of us have hired a driver to do a day trip, any ideas of out of the way places to see?

San Sebastian
Contact Juan at Hacienda Jalisco ahead of time if possible, (he will ride with your group once you get to the hacienda) have him give you the tour of the area. He is a wonderful person and quite the colorful character.
The old Mines, the town, the the point above San Sebastian (you can see all the way to vallarta) I would guess he would work for a flat rate price for a larger group.
He knows everyone in the valley, and it is like getting an insiders tour tot he town.

Sayulita - Still pure and unspoiled for now.
Yelapa - This one is only accesible by boat. (Drive to Mismaloya and have a water taxi take you there. Ask anyone around for Roberto and tell him Zack from Costa Vida sent you. If you go there you will get swarmed by many guys trying to take you out on their boats. Insist on Roberto. Trust me. Lots of snorkeling spots on the way and he will even drag some fishing lines if you want. Very nice man I have known him for 20 years.)
Punta Mita - I love this place but it is getting pretty crowded.

six of us hired small boat from los muertos pier.
(hired the day before)
$20/person for 3 hours. single engine, hand tiller with operator/guide
took us south to los arcos (our option to snorkle), then onto las animas
for long lunch, then back.
nothing spectacular, but when next to sardine packed tourist boats
it made us feel like $$ well spent.
nice afternoon.
