Where is Mahahuitas Bay? I tried to find it on a map and could not see it.

The trip to Yelapa says it first goes to teh village and then to a bay you cannot get to except by boat.

Majhauitas and Yelapa are both located in the Bay of Banderas, they are south of town. Both are accessible only by boat. Yelapa is a typical mexican village which you can explore when you are there. There are restaurants, horseback riding/hiking, a waterfall.

If you think of the Bay of Banderas as a horseshoe and you were holding it up in front of you. The town is in the middle of the horseshoe and the south side of the bay would be on the left of the horseshoe. Punta de Mita, the Marietta's island are at the far tip of the right side of the horseshoe (or the north side of the bay). Hope that helps you get your bearings.

Here is a link to a map of the bay, it will help you get a feel for where things are located.
