Malecon closure/remodel

Rumor has it the malecon is about to be closed for a remodel project. Vallarta has been chosen to host 3 of the Pan American Games events in October and supposedly this is the reason for the sprucing up of the area. I don't have high hopes for the waves that occassionally come in and crash over the sea wall...the wall will be gone and the malecon and street will be all one level, at least according to this artist's drawing.

Wow, I didnt think of that. It looks nice so far, but I hope the water doesnt ruin it.

We will be there Feb 1 for 6 weeks and plan on going downtown many times to eat and drink. I miss PV...
