Where are the best places for decent cheap clothing? Beach wear, footwear etc? What sort of times are clothes shops open till?

Try Lans Department Store. Two locations now, but I use the one just off the Malecon. Decent department store if you forget anything at home.

Most of the shops you will find have very expensive clothing and beachwear, so shop around.

Try either of the two LOB stores, both on the Malecon (boardwalk)... they carry the same things, but if one doesn't have your size, try the other. Make sure you check out the sale racks, as the prices are very good. Most clothes are beach or club clothes, current styles for the most part...lot's of funky polyester and synthetics... if you're super tall, you'll have a bit of a problem, same with really big feet.

Shoes: ton's of little shoe shops all over, most shoes aren't the best quality, and not much for Teva's, Birkenstocks, etc.

There's a Diesel store near Carlos O'Briens- a small variety of stuff.

If you just want some cheap beach clothes, shorts, tanks etc. Try Gigante, Commercial Mexicana or Woolworths...
