Philanthropic Groups/Organizations/Facilities in PV

I'm a member of a student organization at a large US graduate business school. We're looking for vacation opportunities to spend time both having fun, and giving to a local community. We're looking for potential trips for this coming spring, and are trying to get in touch with local philantropic groups and organizations.

Can someone please provide me with some information regarding:
1) General significant community needs (ie: youth services, housing, community center activities, etc....)
2) Local groups, organizations, or facilities that support these needs
3) Contact information

try "childrenofthedump.org "web pg. they feed nearly 2500 kids 5x wk in p.v. and we plan on helping out when we are there next week.
