Family Fun???

Post by Mismaloya Bums » Wed Mar 13, 2002 8:05 pm

We will be visiting Puerto Vallarta over Easter week. Where are some great beaches for Kids. We enjoy Mimaloya but would like to see other parts of the Bay. We like snorkeling, calm waters and and quite beaches.

Assuming that your kids are younger, there is a nice beach area behind the "Lindo Mar Resort" in Conchas Chinas along the highway between Mismaloya and Puerto Vallarta. It is small and uncrowded with some large rocks and shallow water (with small crabs and fish) that offers some simple snorkeling opportunities for the kids - just make sure that the waves are not too big that day. You wouldn't want the kids banging against the rocks as they tried to swim. This is not a "big-time", adult snorkeling adventure, although there is some fun for all ages.

As a bonus, the Lindo Mar has a small restaurant with good food and drinks by the beach where you can oversee the activities without having to sit in the sun.

If you venture into the beach-level hallway of the Lindo Mar, you will see a lot of interesting photos of Puerto Vallarta comparing different areas of PV, both before and after it became a tourist destination.

I hope you enjoy your stay.
