Resort recommendation

Post by dennis88 » Sat Aug 16, 2008 3:22 am

My wife and I are going to PV for a long weekend in March and we can't decide where to stay. We want someplace quiet (not overrun with kids or partiers) with a nice beach and plenty of activities. We'd prefer an AI although that's not a requirement. We're willing to pay up to about $400 a night if we need to.

$400/night, wow, Dennis, I don't know too many rich folks. Hi, my name is Chuck, and I'm available for adoption. Chuck... 8)

I would suggest Casa Isabela ... other than that.. hmmmm AI... I guess the Melia or Dreams... would be what you are looking for at that price range. Remember... you are in Mexico! You cannot buy luxury...only experience it. I think that a private rental might be more up your tree... the AI is pretty limited as to luxury... pm me if you would like more information.

The Golden Crown Paradise is an excellent adults only all inclusive.

I would agree with the recommendation for Golden Crown Paradise. The rooms are very nice, and the hotel offers room service with your all inclusive! We really enjoyed our stay, although the grounds were quite small. The beach is wonderful, best beach area of hotel zone IMO. The bar served top shelf liquor and the beachfront snack bar made the most awesome panini sandwiches. All rooms have an ocean view, some oceanfront even had jacuzzis on the deck! All in all a terrific adults only AI resort.

Dennis88 you have gotten some great comments and recommendation for your travels to our home away from home Puerto Vallarta. Now granted charlieb is still trying to get adopted, which is a lost cause for him, but he still tries...

I have to put in my two cents for the Golden Crown Paradise - as a 14 time repeat guest of this resort, you really can't go wrong with this resort. it is small enough (212 rooms) to be noticed or to be a fly on the wall, it is adults only all inclusive, all menu dining, 4 resturants on property (two specialty resturants where reservations are needed [Salvadors and Paradise]) and Bella Vista and Los Gallos... you have access to the sister resort next door the Crown Paradise Club Resort (family all inclusive), with her four resturants (Reservations for the Italian, French and Japanese) and the Tiki buffet resturant. Two resorts for the price of one.

good luck with your decision making... enjoy Vallarta, this is a wonderful resort city on the Bajia de Banderas... The people of this city are fantastic, and there is so much to do morning noon and night and then again past midnight YIKES... party party party party...

My husband and I are going to the DREAMS resort for the 3rd time this October. We really love this resort. It is AI and a nice quiet atmosphere. It's a 5 minute taxi into downtown PV, so that's nice yet it's out of the way and not in the middle of everything so you'll find that it's quieter than many hotels I think. Anyway, this is just my opinion for what it's worth.

For $400 a night you can rent a villa with a cook and maid. Conchas Chinas is one place to look. You would have your own pool.
