Did you go into Bucieras? Haven't been there but will be at the Marival in mid Jan and would like to find a good seafood or mexican restaurant there.

Chuck, go down to the restaurants along the ocean and have a look at their menus. They are all very good and specialize in seafood.

We did not venture out of the resort as we just enjoy doing nothing when on vacation. There are no shortages of good restaurants.

1. Did you eat at the a la carte restaurants? Are men required to wear long pants?

2. Please give a description of the food

3. How is the beach directly in front of the resort? Do they have palapas (shade)? Do they have beach drink/food service, or do you have to go get your drinks yourself?

4. Do they provide bottled water?

Are you going to do a trip report?

thanks in advance for your response

hello, we ate at all of the restaurants. The chinese and the Brazilan were both reservation restaurants and required long pants although it did not seem to be enforced. You made reservations when you went for breakfast. The Brazilan was an experience that everyone should enjoy. The food was just ok but the presentation was awsome. You just sat down and they brought your food to you. Your salads came first, then the vegetables, and then 5 different meats followed by desert and coffee. All of the other restaurants were buffet. The mexican was the most enjoyable for the service and the food quality. Chinese was disappointing, as was the international. We went for steaks at the beach restaurant but did not enjoy this restaurant.
breakfast was at the international and served about everything. Lunch was at the beach restaurant and at the Naviat (Brazilian) restaurants. The hotel made a great effort to please everyone. The clientel was 50% mexican nationals and 50% other (US, canada and euro).

The beach was nice, plenty of palm trees but no palpas. Plenty of beach loungers. There were two pools, one for families and one for adults. There were plenty of palapas at the pools. We were provided with 3-4 1.5 ltrs of bottled water in the rooms each day. The restaurants have filtered water and ice which is safe. Just dont drink from the bathroom taps because of the minerals will clean you out.

As for the drink service, they have none. You get it yourself and if you are a woman you may wait awhile. Also be aware that the hotel sells the open rooms to the locals on the weekend so the hotel doubles in guest. The waitress said it went to 1770 guest on Friday. They get these rooms at a discount so you get alot of Mexican families. Also, because it is an inexpensive hotel you get a large number of adult spring breakers during the day.

for the price it was a beautiful hotel, nice rooms, enough food to gain 5 lbs, and endless alchol if you want it.

Let me know if you have any other questions or if I did not answer them well enough.

John
