can anyone offer a name telephone number and or Web link for a hotel / motel near the PVR airport or Home Depo side that is inexpensive, all I need is a clean bed and shower in January

I know several gringos who use such hotels during their drive down from NOTB. They are clean and well-equipped, offer room service, secure parking and privacy.

El Gran Sol and Hotel Dunas are both close to the airport.
