a question about bars at buenaventura

Post by gerry48 » Fri Nov 27, 2009 5:16 pm

hello,

we are also considering the all inclusive at buenaventura grand in january
but will cost several hundred dollars more than tropicana or canto del sol.
canto is also all inclusive.
does buenaventura have a nice bar right on the beach right in downtown?

we could recoup a lot of the extra cost if we were close enough to downtown beach to stroll back for the occasional meal and if we liked the bar areas.

Of the 3 of them Tropicana is in the better location, on Los Muertos beach and not too far from the pier. Canto del Sol is out in the hotel zone and the Buenaventura is in the north end of downtown. It's beach is a bit rocky but they do have a restaurant overlooking it.

El Barracuda restaurant is right next door to Buenaventura, right on the beach. Excellent food. If you are facing the beach it is south (to your left). They also have a bar there too.

Well I have stayed at both
From the Canto del Sol it is a twenty minute walk to the Malecon we walked it everyday
The outdoor bar closes at night and you have a bar inside that opens onto the outdoor area nothing to fancy.
The food was not all that great the rooms were clean and comfortable

The Buenaventura is a five minute walk to the Malecon
the outdoor bar is open late right next to the beach the food was much better.
The room also clean and comfortable.
If you want the bang for your buck Stay at the BuenaV its close to downtown and you can walk everywhere
