First time to Puerto Vallarta and trying to decide between Mayan Palace and Raintree Club Regina. Could anyone help? :|

The Mayan Palace is very family/kid friendly. Great place to take a family, if you want more of an adult type accomodation I would definitely choose the Westin Regina. Both are in the Marina area.

Club Regina is now a part of the Raintree vacation club which is a comfortable property that offers spectacular views of the Mayan Palace. The occasions over there are fantastically arranged like wedding. It has a best design in the architecture and interior design.

Thanks for the replies. We are looking for a good location to walk to shops, restaurants, etc. and I've narrowed it down to Mayan Palace & Raintree Club Regina. We don't need a family/kid oriented resort. We've traveled quite a bit but this area is new for us.

They are right next door to each other and easy walking distance to Marina shops and restraunts and a short 60cent bus ride to downtown. We own at the Mayan Palace and will be there in nov., so I am a bit biased but the Regina ia a larger and somewhat more luxurious place. We looked at both properties and chose M.P. because we liked the fact that every room is fairly close to the pool and beach. Only problem, no real balconies at M.P.

Make sure you are looking at the Mayan Palace in Puerto Vallarta and not the one in Nuevo Vallarta (in Rivera Nayarit) which is (depending on traffic) at least a 30 minute cab ride into PV.
