Golden crown paradise

We heard from a couple who stayed here last year that they were going to do a major remodel of the golden crown paradise starting last spring. Have they started or finished?
We'd like to go back but not during a remodel.

We just stayed there last month and enjoyed it immensely.. There were no renovations going on other than the regular maintenance that they are constantly doing.

In fact there were 28 of us using 16 rooms, most of which were Beachfront with upgrades. All of the rooms were really nice, the elevators were all working this year (unlike the previous year), and they appear to have gotten rid of the sewer smell that came up into the bathroom drain on the fifth floor as well.

The only problem we had was the jacuzzi tub faucet handle came off and we couldn't shut the water off... Lucky for the wife she only had it on a very slow fill and they let it run until their repairman had time to come and fix.

We've always enjoyed this place and come back each year, although each year there were small irritants that impeded a fault free vacation. This year we talked 26 other work friends into coming with us for the week, and my wife and I can say that everything was absolutely beautiful and could not have been better.

To top it off, one of the ladies lost her purse somewhere on the grounds one night and security brought it back to her completely intact. Two days later another of the ladies went to Walmart and left her purse with money, passport, everything, in the washroom there, and Walmart security tracked her down and returned everything. It said so much for safety, security, and honesty for both the GCP and Puerto Vallarta given that all of us agree that if you left in any of our Walmart's in our home Province there is a fat chance you would ever get anything back.

Always nice to hear things haven't completely gone down the drain when it comes to safety and honesty, good to know.

Greetings
