Hey there, we are a group of University Students heading to PV this summer. We want to know which hotels people recommend for a younger crowd, while still being a high quality hotel. Afew that have caught our eye are the Sheraton buganvillias and the Mayan Palace PV. Also, would it be a much better idea for us to stay nearer to downtown, assuming we will be accessing the club and bar scene a fair amount? And if you stay downtown, does it decrease the quality of the beaches significantly or not?
Thanks, any and all unformation would be wonderful.

Re:Hotel In PV
Hi there,
Of the good hotels that receive students and younger tourists with open arms are Velas Vallarta (Marina Vallarta http://www.velasvallarta.com) and Punta Arena (Hotel Zone - walking distance from downtown PV - http://www.puntaarena.com) Velas being more luxy than Punta Arena. You can check their location using the site (http://www.puertovallarta.net) PV Maps section.
Kind regards
Mogens

Re:Hotel In PV
The Sheraton is very nice and closer to downtown than the Mayan Palace. I don't know much about the Sheraton, but the Mayan Palace will not be what you are looking for. You would be more likely to run into your parents there or your older sibs with their young children.
Re:Hotel In PV
The nicest beach in PV ,we found , was Los Muertos (south end)Joey-J (Jan 04, 2001 01:27 p.m.):

Hi Joey-J
Depending on how much you are looking to spend and whether or not you want to go all inclusive, Blue Bay Getaway (NOT TO BE MISTAKEN FOR BLUE BAY CLUB) is a really nice place. I went ther last year (it was in the winter mind you) with a bunch of friends from school and we had an excellent time. You can walk downtown in about 15 minutes - bus or cab will take you there in about 2 min. If you are going to party and plan on drinking alot, all inclusive is the best way to go..that way all your booze and food is taken care of. you still have to pay for drinks at the clubs, but nothing says you can't drink BEFORE you go, and spend a bit less at the club. This is a four star hotel, but it is very reasonably priced esp. when you take into consideration the location and the service. (summer is way cheaper too) hope i could help a bit. I've been to PV several times so feel free to e-mail me if you have any questions about partying, hotels, anything!!!! - saborina@hotmail.com -
