Andy Stock owns a bungalow rental which he calls Casa Simpatico in Santa Cruz, Nayarit near San Blas. He also runs a water taxi in San Francisco. We rented Andy Stock's house in Mexico. He sent us a contract showing rent and deposit costs, number of people, and length of rental. We took excellent care of his property but after we left and contacted him to return our deposit he decided he should have charged us more and has refused to return the money.

What sort of recourse do we have? We have the rental agreement which he is backing out on, and an email trail. Any ideas? It is no longer about the money as much as the unfairness of it all.

Thanks.

Andy's website for this place is http://www.vrbo.com/30535 with his phone number listed as well.. You would think that he would be little concerned with this negative publicity and clear this up pretty quick.

Many thanks for the suggestion, Chico. I will follow that up.

Ronald - I hope so. Andy was a really nice guy and his place was wonderful and then he came up with the security thing, I could not believe it. What made me mad was how cavalierly he treated my wife in emails: "Ya, sure" when she complained about it.

Anyways - many thanks for the advice!
