recent south side muggings

There have been two muggings on PV's south side in the last 10 days. Probably best to take a taxi at nite nowdays, even for short trips home!

It is not the Southside that is the problem, it is walking home drunk alone on dark streets on a nightly basis. It makes you a perfect target. These muggings were not in areas that tourists normally walk late at night.

True, they were not in tourist areas. This was the second time in approx. 6 years one of those expats was mugged in the same area. I guess walking in groups may help. Also kida astounded of the lack of police presence in these situations.

If you are going to sound the alarm you have to give all the facts. These incidents have NOT been reported to the police, so it is hard for them to have a presence in the area.
The expats know this is going on in the area and they continue to walk into those neighborhoods "alone" late at night. One of the business owners stated locals have told him not to walk in that area alone late at night and the people involved continue to do it. Some people have no common sense.
