Merry Riemer Rental Fraud (In the Vallarta Area)

I’m writing in to report a case of rental fraud that started in Mexico; the money was collected in Canada and the fraud continued back to Mexico. The main player in this scam is a woman by the name of Merry Riemer (from Brandon, Manitoba) and she is the one who took (and has kept) my money. From my communications with her, my understanding is that she resides somewhere in the Neuvo or Puerto Vallarta area.

It all started when I posted a request for long-term accommodations on Rentalo.com. I was contacted by several parties by email and some by phone. Merry was one of these.

The essential elements of the fraud is that Merry charged me an advance fee for an apartment that was unsuitable, then kept my deposit of over $700.00 Canadian. I have reported this case of fraud to numerous Canadian Agencies including:

Suffice to say that I’m extremely angry at being conned; I gave Merry a deadline of today to refund my money and from what I can see she’s ignored it.

If you know this woman, let her know about this posting. In the meantime, help me spread the word. The only way con artists like this can get away with their activities is if we let them. I, for one, won’t let her get away with it.

I just received a note today from Merry letting me know that she wants to meet me and pay me back. It will take place in Old town tomorrow. Once I have my funds back I'll write about it.
