Favorite Jimmy Buffet tune

Post by tojol57 » Wed Aug 01, 2007 2:21 am

Since thru Sylvia we started the book of the month club... and we all have been reading some of Mr Buffet's books, let's toss in "your" favorite song...

as you could tale earlier, one of mine is "Fruitcakes"... because you have to be a little flawed in this universe, and the cosmic bakers did take me out just a little early... HA HA HA....

and of course "Five o'clock somewhere"... only because of the parties we have in Vallarta are so much fun... that when we need that refreshment here... it has to be 5 o clock somewhere....

lets rock....

Great video, and J.B. is a pretty good pilot so, that may be him in the biplane. My favorite changes from day to day so, today, that one will be mine. But, on any given day it could be, in no particular order;
License to Chill;
Pencil Thin Mustache;
A Pirate Looks at 40;
Margueritaville;
or, I Will Play For Gumbo.
But not strictly limited to those.

IMO, if you're going to the tropics (that would be P.V.), you just have to get into some Jimmy Buffett, blend up some margueritas, put on your hush puppies (or flip flops) and relax. Metal has it's place, but in P.V., the only metal that counts is the steel drums [sun]

good one sylvia. but i think i might have upset him on one of his other questions and threads. i really didn't think i was that "butt-headed" about it... oh well...

and Pirates of the Caribbean is one of my favorite movies... James Bond will always be first, then good old fashioned war movies with John Wayne, Kirk Douglas, Robert and Jim Mitchem, Henry Fonda, etc etc etc. then throw in some westerns, and the Pirates.. ha ha ha ha

Well Tom, you're a pirate lookin at 50, I'm a pirate lookin at 60, I think some Christmas fruitcakes have been getting passed around longer than that, so how old can we be? And, much as I like Pierce Brosnan, Sean Connery is THE Bond, James Bond.

Yeah; he's 'country' all right, I still prefer George Strait and Reba.

That may be so, but I would like to go for a really long time, and can't afford it right now, so my preference would be to hit up the 'Warren Buffet' for some funds.

Hey maybe Jimmy Buffet would write a song about getting Warren Buffet to pay for all of our vacations?

How can anyone have been to a party or gathering of some sort and NOT heard of Jimmy Buffet? I'm 20 and have probably 10 Jimmy Buffet songs on my Ipod. And to have traveled and not seen a "Jimmy Buffet's Margaritaville"? Those bad boys are poppin up all over!!! By the way, Cheeseburger in Paradise definitely is one of my fave's...Might sound silly but in high school no BBQ was complete until we heard that and Margaritaville about 10 times.
