Bumping this back up.

Has anyone heard any further regarding this?

I have been unable to find anything on the internet mentioning this. I even tried my travel dates on selloffvacations and it says rooms are available still.

We are choosing between the Buenaventura and PLA for Xmas. We are leaning more towards the PLA, however, if the Buenaventura clients are being moved, that could affect availabilty at other hotels too anyways. (We aren't booking until next week for various reasons).

Hope no one was hurt.

Hi

So this is the situation it has taken the day to get this straight. There was NO Fire. Some one or person from AC Vacations got a little carried away in the explaination of what was going onto the travel agent. Due to the on going renovations of the Buenaventura AC Vacations has had numerous complaints ie noise dust construction starting early in the morning that sort of thing. So AC Vacations has stopped all bookings to the "B". As of today they expect that all room renos will be done by the end of the month. The lounge pool is closed the big pool is closed the jacuzzi is closed they expect to have that up and running by the 1st week of Nov.
This is what I was told as I phoned the hotel directly today to confirm this.
So I hope I have not freaked people out just passing on what I know and have found out. As for AC Vacations well that is another story. I have changed to the Canto Del Sol as AC Vacations has cancelled all vacations
bookings at the "buena" until renos are complete. I still like the place the staff and the location and will be back in Feb 08

8) I agree with Chance. I too called the hotel directly. No fire - just renovations. How can they improve on something that was already good to start with - guess I will see in February 2008 when we return. I would however like to kick the AC rep that said it was a fire.

Thanks for the update folks. It's amazing how stories get mixed up

Hope you enjoy your vacation Chance. CDS is our third choice if we can't get into Playa Los Arcos or the Buenaventura for Christmas.

I will know where we will be by next week. Yay! Can't wait.

Yes Sylvia,

I did just return from Antigua last weekend. Going to PV for Christmas and probably Panama for a week in February or March.

Pretty spoiled heh?

I always get the most excited about the PV trips though! Can't wait!

Helen , you still owe us a trip report from Antigua ! :)

Panama sounds interesting - another trip report ?

Glad the Buenaventura isn't the Burnaventura ! :D
