Song dedicated to one of my 3 sons...

second foot break.. This time a doozy :P

Daddy said, I hope you learned your lesson good
Yes sir, next time Im gonna wear the Superman boots...

Go on, give it a try
Go on, give it a try

Believe you can fly, you can sing
Take a leap, spread your wings
Believe, have a little faith little trust
Little luck little love and dream
Whatever you want but you've gotta believe

Go on, give it a try
Go on, give it a try
Go on, give it a try
Go on, give it a try

Right now, I'm listening to Chris Rea "Road to Hell" Part 1 & 2
I used to listen to this when I was babysitting all the time. I'd turn it up really loud and the kids and I would dance around the house. I forgot I had it on my Ipod ..... it was a happy discovery!

You are right Sylvia... it is a controversial ad however Europe is light years ahead of us on addressing issues such as this. Some of the earlier ones that originated in France are really good as well.. If you are going to view any, try the second one at this site first:

http://www.wired.com/table_of_malconten ... llipop_in/ .

One of the fourteen programs I supervise is a HIV/Aids Awareness program. A few years ago we tried to get permission to play these on the local community channel as PSA's, but found out that we could not. We thought that at best the community would at least respond favourably to # 2 since those that were homophobic should find no argument with it. NOT. I believe the response and term they used was that Canadian community norms and sensibilities were not the same as that of Europe's. Everybody hears, but they don't listen.

Yes Europe is light years ahead of us addressing sensitive issues but I think this Ad is even over the top for most Europeans and has angered many...
The ad really is disgusting and very creepy... When I viewed it I was disgusted and thought I would not want my grandkids...a few Aunties etc. to see the video :)
Then I thought maybe this is what it takes for those that stubbornly choose to ignore the dangers of the disease ? who knows?

I imagine Hitler is a sensitive topic to many Germans so will be interesting to see if the Ad plays...

First Nation People in Saskatchewan are at high risk of contracting the disease... Mostly I understand from sharing needles..
Handing our condoms is a good idea in promoting safe sex (Are they being used though?) but I believe that many need to be shocked and see how horrible this deadly Aids disease is..

Maybe then they will hear and listen and most importantly be willing to make lifestyle changes and take precausions...
I also feel our governments should promote more testing so that those that do have HIV can get help before they infect others without knowing it and before they develop full blown Aids...

What is sad and makes me very angry is that this is a disease that CAN be prevented... So many people contract other diseases they have no control over.

Good luck with your program...

RIP Mary

A 1960's folk group with many hits that were so easy to sing and harmonize to and we did :) at many fire side bush parties...

My brother and my husband Bill's sister my BF Faye sang in a high school folk group together sometime 1960's and yes they sang Peter Paul and Mary songs...
 :)

Now please everybody and anybody... take no offence.. I am not directing this at anyone or mean no harm.

This is what I really was listening to while tab browsing on my computer... I just heard it last night in the local bar being sung on Karaoke, and when I came back to my office I googled it.. Jimmy Buffett wrote and sings it.

The words to me anyway are quite funny.... especially with the progressing description of the family.

Whoever wrote it up on this site can't spell which is quite irritating to me and makes me think of a few choice words for the writer whilst I am singing along.

I have been a Parrothead most of my life. Jimmy Buffett is my favorite. However, he did not write or sing that song. Many people have tried to credit him with singing/writing it, but it is not true. I do love that song though.
