Wow, that was a good one...7.2 centered 19 miles southeast of Mexicalli, Mexico. Damage to homes, roads and one death reported so far in Mexico. Largest quake in the northern Mexico/So Cal area since 1992.

Earthquakes

Post by ronald » Mon Apr 05, 2010 4:25 am

You could not offer me enough of anything to get me to live in California and for that matter Vancouver B.C. as well. I'll take the ice, snow, bugs, bears, and summer forest fires, over living in earthquake alley any day.

Ronald,
Lived here my entire life and everywhere you live there is something. Hurricanes, Tornados, Avalanches, Forest Fires, Landslides, Floods, Earthquakes. You can't get away from them. Last time I looked Canada has some major fault lines too, so never say never.

I will take So Cal anytime. I can be at the beach in 10 minutes, skiing in 1-1/2 hours, in the desert in 1-1/2 hours and you can't beat the weather. I too can have ice, snow, bears, bugs but I can drive home and leave them all there. We even have bears that enjoy people's backyard jacuzzi's 20 miles from my house. I have a huge racoon buddy that hangs out in my yard. You just think we are city folk.

We get to blame Mexico for this one, it just made a run for the border :)

I spent the 1st half of my life in SoCal and I would gladly take an occasional shake over 9 months of winter ant time.

9 months of winter? What part of Canada in particular are you talking about?

When I lived in Reno, the saying was that Reno has 2 seasons, winter and august.
