Much sadness, and my condolences to the family of the great Ernie Banks, who passed away today at 83. Total class act, and a great ambassador for the Cubs and MLB. For a small man, and being a shortstop, 512 career home runs, and like the great Henry Aaron, was able to shift his weight, drop his head, and swing hard when he went yard. Quite impressive HOF stats:

I'm wondering what the Cubs memorial jersey patch will look like the forthcoming season. If I'm not mistaken, Back to the Future 2 (one of the networks did a spot on the Delorean they used in the film,) Marty McFly arrives in 2015 to see a marquee showing the Cubs 2015 World Series champions. Anouter sleeve patch later in the post season? Wouldn't that be a hella note!? Farewell Ernie, your Windy City grieves, and misses you.
