Restaurants in Bucerias

Post by IslanderCan » Thu Jan 03, 2008 10:08 pm

We are visiting Bucerias for the first time next week and I was wondering if all the experts that have vacationed there would kindly give me a list of 'must go to' restaurants.

Thanks in advance. :D 8)

Dugarel's and El Pescadors. We went to El Pescador's last Feb. and had buckets of cerveza and a huge plate of shrimp. It was very good and very reasonable!!

We really enjoyed Audatos (not quite sure about the spelling). It had great grilled red snapper and an awesome seafood platter for 2!

One that the locals, natives and ex-pats like, is Famar. I've eaten there twice and it is very, very good but you would walk right past it and hardly notice it. It is on the highway going into town at the corner where the 2nd light is, on the right side of the street. The first light is the one by the OXXO store at the road leading down to the Royal Decameron, so you would just keep going north.

If you are interested in a different dining experience check out Le Fort. (There is a web page). This is a French Cooking school experience where a group of about 10 (you don't have to provide the whole group - we joined a group and had a fabulous time). The chef (I think his name is Guiles) prepares the meal and provides instruction complete with recipes while you sit around a large counter surrounding him, drinking wine and sampling canapes - he provides classic french cuising cooking and prepares the 3 course meal. You then move to an open air area and consume the wonderful meal with Guiles and his wife. He then brings out the brandy and cubans and the feast goes on. It's not cheap but we had a great time.

Also Marks is very good and the popttery shop attached to it is wonderful.

Both of these restaurants are accessed by taking the first exit that leads to the RDC and taking a right at the last possible road.

Aduatos is very good. Karen's Place is very good. You can venture a little further north to La Cruz and go to the Black Forest, which is VERY good.

The restaurant mentioned in the last post is Ecole de Cuisine LeFort. The website is -http://www.lefort.com.mx/ingindex.htm

Thankyou everyone for your choices. Ecole de Cuisine looks like a place we will have to definately check out. I looked at their website, and it looks very interesting. Love to see my food cooked in front of me.

My husband loves to go fishing while on holiday and we talked about going to La Cruz, so eating at the Black Forest was a great suggestion.

Mucho Gracias!

I agree with Sylvia, Sandrina's is a great place. Also check out Rito's Baci, which is on the same street, I believe. Both are on Lazara Cardenas, quite near Mark's, another restaurant recommended in an earlier post.

I'm going to spend two weeks in Bucerias next April rather than Old Town so that is why I'm asking. I've never been there. Also, any recs for Sayulita as I plan to visit that town as well.

Dining in Bucerias

Post by canynhikr1 » Sat Feb 09, 2008 4:15 pm

My husband likes Claudios Meson Bay in Bucerias. They have an all you can eat barbeque buffet full lof LOTS of meat and typical Mexican sides. He thinks this is really good. The best part is you are right on the beach and the sunsets here are amazing.

My favorite in Bucerias is Marks Bar and Grill. Food is fresh, the highest quality and the atmosphere is gorgeous. I typically order a fish dish here and have not been disappointed. VERY good!!
