Great New Little Bar in Bucerias - The Twisted Rose

Post by lyrihn » Tue Mar 04, 2008 4:47 pm

There is a cute little new bar in Bucerias called The Twisted Rose - La Rosa Chueca.

It just opened. Nice atmosphere - Nice music - general clientel. It's located on the main entrance just past the hardware store (cab stand street across) on the second floor. You can see its balcony from the street.

They serve gourmet hamburgers and fries as well. The owner's name is Hugh.

I enjoyed myself there. If you're in Bucerias its worth checking out. Open every day from 2 pm till whenever.

The Twisted Rose

Post by pdxbuff » Tue May 06, 2008 9:34 pm

I just got back from spending two weeks in Bucerias. This is one of many restaurants I checked out due to mumerous posts of recommendation on this board and the others. Hugh, the owner, has expanded his menu and now has 16 "patty" options. By "patty" I mean anything that will fit between a bun such as beef, chicken, fish, etc. You also have a choice of 8 toppings or you can build your own. The cost for the "patty" is 80 pesos which also includes your choice of either a beer, french fries or a salad.
There is also a full bar. Hugh told me that he intends to have his restaurant air-conditioned soon which will be nice and sorely needed during the summer months. I give this restaurant a thumbs up.

Bucerias

El Brujo (same owner as in Vallarta) is also in Bucerias on the beach. I'll have to look for it. Sr. Brujo told me that yesterday when I was in the restaurant in Vallarta.

Also, Gigante across from the Sheraton is now Soriana.

I stopped by the Twisted Rose today and the big signs said Coming Soon. So, it was not open for business today.

The comming Soon Sign was at their NEW location not the original one (by the taxi stand).

The new location which is across the street and just north of Yo Yo Mo's bar (which is also a great place for drinks and pizza). This loation used to be the restaurant named "lost Paradise" if i remember correctly.

The new location opens on the 12th of August - Much larger place with big gardens etc.

Bucerias day trip

Post by tpoid » Mon Sep 15, 2008 2:57 pm

We are thinking of a day trip to Bucerias when we go to PV end of Oct. Where are the best places on the beach that have chairs, umbrellas and restrooms that can be used during the day?
Where should we eat lunch?
Is there a place we can get changed so that we can go out to dinner and hang around in town?
Dinner suggestions?
How late do the buses run back to the marina?
Thanks for the help.
