Andale

I noticed Andale has changed up their menu.

I loved sitting in the sidewalk section enjoying my Huevos Rancheros watching the early morning deliveries and shops setting up for the day. I look forward to doing that again next year when we return to PV.

Is Andale's still a "Happening" place during the evenings? Do they still have the donkey? I know things change, hopefully Andale has only changed for the better!!!

No it is pretty much like always. They have competition from Apaches next door but they still have their 50plus crowd at night. And the donkey rides...

Excellent!!! Thanks. We've always had a great time (even some not memorable) at Andale.

It's a fun place, but it's best if you have too many beers in your system...

Discovered this place in 2005 and have visited it often on subsequent visits. Weekends are loud and busy and they still have the donkey. I have met some interesting people here and I still love it. You will too!

Poor donkey

Poor donkey... and I mean the animal, just in case ;-)

It is OK of you are over 50 and get your kicks out of drinking. If you like dancing and younger people, La Bodeguita Del Medio is a better choice. Just watch your bill because they are known cheats.

Keith,
You seem to have that problem a lot. Everyone cheats you on your bill?

I have only had that happen once in 25 years and when we complained to management it was corrected immediately with an apology.

It was actually a friend kat. She was ripped off for over $100 including T-shirt purchases. The policia said she had to pay even though it was clearly a rippoff.

I guess living here for 7 months along with many resident acquaintances does expose me to many more situations than the 2-week wonders. But I share them just to keep others forewarned. I have only been ripped off for a couple of extra beer there.

I did recommend La Bodeguita just with a caveat because it is a true alternative to Andales and all the drug-funded rock venues.

BTW last week at La Playa, they tried to charge my guest for an extra bottle of vodka, and then at OXXO they tried to shortchange him by 20 pesos. It was my diligence that prevented these from happening. I shudder to think of what happens to the average inattentive tourist. These clerks must get away with it a lot.

kcowan, are you saying that Andale is a "Drug Funded Venue"?

I do not think that Keith was referring to Andale in that instance. Jorge Zambrano, the owner is a well respected business Man in PV.

The drug-funded venues are along the Malecon. Andales and Apaches are locally owned and funded. And fun...

Andale's owner also owns condos on Olas Altas and rental apartments on Fca Rodriguez. He is certainly influential like Howard says.
