Las Palomas at the Marina

Post by webmaster » Mon Apr 29, 2013 8:54 am

I read that some months ago Nelly Barquet who was wife of both Ramiz Barquet and Guillermo Wulff opened Las Palomas at the Marina (after closing the landmark restaurant on the Malecon). Anybody know where the restaurant is exactly? Anyone been there?

Sure it will never be the same, but at least it's nice to see Nelly keeping active and fighting along, a good example for us all.

From what I can see on the photos here: http://www.vallartaopina.net/index.php? ... g&ele=4254

I think the Las Palomas Restaurant is here: http://goo.gl/maps/UNGuz

Great to see that they saved the mural with all the important people that have visited or enjoyed Las Palomas.

Any one that can confirm the location?

It is on the east side of Nima Bay along with several other boutique restaurants (suchi, Indian...). We have been there twice to have their Chillis Rellenos stuffed with spicy meat (instead of cheese). Nelly was holding court the first time we ate there.

La Europea is also on that stretch. And The Sonora Grill is around the corner past the Starbucks on the north side.

The old Malecon location is now remodelled as La Cerveceria Union.

Yes, I saw the horrible Cervecería...

So the location I placed on Google Streetview is more or less correct, no?

Great to hear you've visited them, next time, could you send me some photos of the mural ;-)?
