I think you are right oneistwo with the marketing thing with Corona. It is a decent beer but once I drank XX I have not gone back to Corona unless they don't have XX.

I will be back in 6 more days and it looks like Pacifico will be the first beer I crack into when i get there.

Adios,
T.

PS. Tom? Beer with olives? Hmmmmm Never tried that before. Is it kinda like putting salt in beer. I have done that (just a shake or two). Interesting.

Leon and Montejo

Post by webmaster » Wed Jul 19, 2006 7:46 pm

Now that León and Montejo (Cervecería Yucateca) have been bought by Cervecerías Modelo, you should have more opportunities to find these great beers in town... or so I believe, so give them a try when you see them and comment. If I have options (corona, bohemia, indio, pacifico) and Leon and Montejo are available I always ask for them and being half dane, I know a bit about beers (Carlsberg anyone?).

It would be nice to try something different. I hope the next time I'm in Vallarta I can find at least one of those brands.

Anything sounds good right now. It's been 24 hours since my last drink, 3 Pacificos and a top shelf margarita at our local cantina. I've been at work all day and "I see sick people". Argggh!

I have in my times visiting Mexico......

DOS XX
Corona

and others that I do not remember name especially when they pour from a tap.

So I would give either two as number one for me and the rest all second.
I have to agree that the best beer is the one I would be drinking at the time.
Molson's Canadian eh
I am Canadian....

sorry had to say that.

A local Italian restraunt serves beer with a green olive. It does increase the fizz factor.

I've always liked Sol since my first time in PV, and have started drinking it at home too! But after seeing all those votes for Pacifico.. I'm thinking that'll be the first bucket of beers I get at the Burro Bar on Monday :D

It's all about the Pacifico for me! But if they don't have that I'll pretty much drink anything :-)

Something I did not see in Feb. but found in almost all bars and restaurants last month was 9% Pacificos. A different flavor profile, noticably more malty, and, obviously, more bounce to the ounce.

Personally, I avoid any beer in a clear bottle. Clear glass increases your chances of getting a skunked beer tremendously.

Hello,
A skunked beer is a beer that was once cold and then was left to sit out in the hot sun. It tastes like a skunk. :?

Oh, didn't know skunks were part of the diet anywhere in the world... ;-) such cute creatures (except when they are squirting their perfume on you, of course...!) :-) Thanks for the explanation, didn't think that would happen with a beer, will experiment.

Greetings

Mogens
