Post by mlroberts » Sat Jan 14, 2006 11:36 pm

A friend of mine said she had this in Puerto Vallarta a few years ago and it was reaaalllllly good!!!! She can't remember the name of the dish, just that it was chicken topped with a chocolate sauce. Anyone know the name of it or have heard of it before? Thanks :?

I believe that would be "mole" pronounced "Moe-Lay". And, indeed, is it quite good. Chuck... 8)

mlroberts..."mole" is an Oaxacan dish and it's many versions are very localized, no two being quite the same...although you may find it being served in PV, that's much the same as having "poutine" in Kelowna...sonofdob.

mlroberts...I am sure the Poutine is just fine in Kelowna but not quite the same as the original...I am in Quebec City this week enjoying my fill of it ! Mole in PV is fine as well, but in Oaxaca City or even the Huatulco area (La Crucesita or Santa Cruz) it is incomparable ! But do try it when you are in PV...sonofdob

Can't help but wonder what a Poutine is. Is this a native delicacy?

I can already feel my arteries clogging. As for the mole', try it at Si Senor. Any taxi driver knows where it is.
