Is there a Fajita Republic in Puerto Vallarta? I saw one last year when we stayed in Nuevo, just wondering what it was like?
Re: Fajita Republic
Yes, there's on on Basilio Badillo on the south side.welovepv wrote:Is there a Fajita Republic in Puerto Vallarta? I saw one last year when we stayed in Nuevo, just wondering what it was like?
Fajita Republic
The one on B. Badillo is the original. If you don't feel like fajitas, I recommend the Nasty Hog platter. Sounds nasty but damn good.
And good news - it's now timeshare shill free!!

Nasty Hog
Nasty Hog:
Two helpings of bbq ribs (short racks, maybe 4-5 on each)
Beer battered shrimp (I think there were 5)
Twice baked potato
A lovely crisp salad with a tangy vinaigrette dressing (it's got a lot in it too - even artichoke heart!)
When I had it in October the price was 165 pesos. It was enough food to feed two people - in fact, one couple dining with me shared theirs. I took better than half of mine "para llevar". LOL

As you come across the bridge southbound on Vallarta, you'd take a right at B. Badillo. It's one block towards the water from there.

No
As noted above, the timeshare shills are gone. There is a sign up at the entrance to that effect, and I can confirm 100% there were none on the premises as late as November 2005 when I was there, because it was the first thing we asked about.Beware, though, the guy who appears to be a manager is a timeshare shark.
We were never approached, other than by the waitstaff.
Oh - those dining there should note the tip is now built into the cheque. It shows clearly on the printout. I think it was 17% but don't quote me. We tipped more as we were a large group and they treated us like royalty, plus the food was great, hot, and served really quickly.

Oops, didn't read down all the way. Good news! We plan on having a dinner or two there next time around this fall.Jennybean wrote: And good news - it's now timeshare shill free!!
Re: Fajita Republic
We were there in February too and the food was great and no time share salesman in the guise of a host for us either. That really put me off the only other time we were there and the only reason we went back was that some people asked us to join them there for dinner. We were very pleasantly surprised this time around.rossk wrote:Oops, didn't read down all the way. Good news!
